Ten Latin American countries learn about the Spanish model of assistance to taxpayersAn activity of a practical nature organised by the Tax Agency, with the support of the FIIAPP, in the last phase of the annual tax returns campaign in Spain.
The Spanish Tax Agency showed its counterparts from ten Latin American countries how taxpayer assistance works for filing their income tax return. This activity scheduled in Madrid was coordinated by the General Subdirectorate of Information and Assistance, of the Tax Management Department.
The program included a visit to the Special Delegation in Madrid. The attendees visited the Income Platform and learned about the entire process of taxpayer assistance, from the time the taxpayer requests the ticket to the filing of the income tax return/draft.
They also visited the Telephone Assistance Center (CAT), the Basic Tax Information platform (Call Center) and the Printing and Envelope Center (CIE), where they were able to clarify all their doubts.
The activity was completed with the participation of Joaquín Cester, from the administration of Toulon (France) and Kees van Dongen, from the Dutch administration, who shared their experiences in relation to the implemented and future strategies, to promote voluntary compliance.
The closing session shared the experiences that each country had chosen. Among the best practices, we mentioned: self-service terminals for carrying out procedures, organization of the tax information system, the “Mobile Office” project for Income Tax campaigns, etc.
The closing ceremony was chaired by Ángeles Fernández, Director of the information and assistance department, together with Javier Quintana, Director of FIIAPP, with the participation of the Ibero-American representatives actively involved in this action of the program.
